This is a slalom board I just finished, I don't like it I put a kick on it and mounted the trucks on there hoping it would be a good foot hold but I just need to put like a million angled risers on there now to dial it in for slalom. I wedged the nose to which helped, but the back is way to skinny. I'm afraid to ride this because the last one snapped and now I'm left rethinking the shape of this. Anyway Length: 29 3/4" Width: 8 1/4" Thickness: 1/2" (4x1/8" plies) Comments and suggestions are much appreciated

wow you're really cranking out the boards. it looks like a pretty sharp ride. are those 66 zigs? are they centerset, because you look like you turned them around,

that board is sexy! never ridden a slalom set up board but I want to try one soon. how do you think a 26" humu with angled rts/x would do? I'm thinking it's a little on the short side.
I believe the graphics were just removed, that's why they look flipped.

Yeah they're actually Big Zigs (75mm) but no I did not flip them and yes the graphic on the wheels have been removed
26" is a little short but I've actually used just a normal humu set up with midtracks and tunnels fro slalom and it worked pretty well.

once again: love the grip, love the wood (no homo), and I like your slippers. where would it be likely to snap? where your back foot rests? I don't see how it would do that.

that bandana grip is sex. did you do all that by hand? or is it paint...

I'm afraid of it snapping anywhere from the middle of the board down to where the first bolthole of the rear truck is. Next time I'll just make the taper less drastic.
Thanks though, the wood is nothing special, like I said, just good old baltic birch with a blue stain plus fade. the Grip is actually just a clear finish with a non skid paint additive similar to that stuff Chris(akanoobboarder) used on his boards in an earlier post.
The bandana took a while to get in there but I laid down a thick finish then laid the bandana on top of that while it was still wet and smacked another layer of finish on top and continued adding more layers until I was happy and finally on the last coat of finish I sprinkled the non skid paint additive. I had to wash the bandana a couple times and then iron nice and crisp before I laid it down.

seriously though you should send some of your grip ideas or designs to the bigger companies...I think they'd be all over the initiative and try them on a few of their models.

I'm pretty sure LBL doe a similar thing but it's too time consuming and expensive for big companies to be able to do while manufacturing boards. But I've seen multiple people who handmake boards use the idea.
Thanks though, i'm gonna look for other patterns as well.
