Nope, It's good old Baltic Birch. Red stain with a red burst, although it looks a little orangey. It's 43" long and about 9 3/4" wide I think. It has decent concave and the flex is pretty nice. I got the idea for the grip and my friend went to town on it. Collectively I'm just gonna guess it took him 1 1/2 hours- 2 1/2 hours.
I'm finishing up a slalom board I made as well and as soon as I snag a camera from someone in my family I'll put up pics

awesome brotha. I have a gibson les paul guitar that looks extremely similar to that, though i don't know so much about carving on gibsons ;]
